Kearney’s Only Half Marathon is Scheduled for June 9

Buffalo County Stampede also includes 10K, 5K Chip-Timed Races

Kearney, Neb — The 12th annual Buffalo County Stampede Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K is scheduled for Sunday, June 9 at 7 a.m.

Buffalo County Stampede is open to a variety of fitness levels, and all three races are chip-timed. This is the only half marathon in Buffalo County. Stampede is a fundraiser for Trails and Rails Museum.  

Trophies will go to the first man and woman overall in the half marathon. Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in age group divisions for men and women. All finishers receive a medal and those who register prior to May 19 also receive a t-shirt.

New this year, organizers are inviting registered participants to pick up their race packets during the Trails and Rails Museum’s Wagons West Celebration. Wagons West is a free celebration with live music, delicious food, exhibitors, demonstrators, archive researchers, kids’ games, and contests that is designed to be fun for all ages. Wagons West takes place Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trails and Rails Museum.
